The Sock Stealer Holiday Tales..

Rocket & Roses HQ Play List:

The Sweet ~ Blockbusters Album

Reds note:
It's no secret I'm unwell and at this moment in time when ML goes away on work trips...(this time Barcelona lucky thing)..I struggle to meet all the needs of our little Sock Stealer called Archie. Thankfully in our close circle of friends we have a great couple who run an unofficial Doggie Hotel. They love to spend time with dogs and have a very busy calendar looking after friends and families much loved pooches. So this time when ML announced new dates of future work trips we got him booked in fast. Can't begin to tell you how much he loves going there. He almost looks sad when we turn up to pick him up again until we produce his favourite ball...and then he chooses to come home with us again. lol. This time he asked the Doggie Whisperer (as A has begun to be known..lol) to take some snaps to show us what a tough time he has there. And as I have had requests for photos of the four legged family I thought I'd share them with you too......Enjoy...over to Archie...~Red~

Time with my pal....

Lady Ella on the left...
Lord Archibald Stealer of Stealer of Socks on the right
Ella is family...and we get the chance to see each other sometimes and when we do we have great fun. Although I'm not sure how A got us to stay still for this portrait for so long. She must have put the Dog Whisperer whammy on us...sneaky human.

That is a shifty look if I ever saw one.....lol
When not frolicing in parks together or when Ella is eating my breakfast...we can be quiet. That sneaky human got us again...

Walks in the parks....

Oh yes...it's one of those...thingamejigs isn't it?
There are some fantastic walks to be had...in the parks...studying the nature. Barking loudly at the big dogs and then running and hiding when they come to play. A, told me I had to man up...but I much prefer hiding behind her legs. I'm a lover not a fighter.

Ooh ooh ooh ooh...can I play? Can I? huh?
I'm trying to make friends with the ducks at the park but they don't seem to be interested. Are they as aloof with humans???

Psst psst...hey...I'm Archie are you Donald????
Alas it wasn't to be....but next time I'm there I will keep trying. Being in the pond looks like so much fun...

Time at the Doggie Hotel....

All the socialising can be quite exhausting...
When not being thoroughly loved...snuggled up with A & C, walked around great parks, romping with Ella and trying to make new friends....I find I'm a little tired so there is always time for a snooze.

Deep in thought....
As with all great hotels and spas...there is always time for quiet reflection. Does my nose look big in this shot?

Comfort and refreshments aplenty...
It's all Go, Go, Go! No time for total relaxation...Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz......

So thank you for stopping by Red's blog and I hope you enjoyed my photo holiday tales...and I would like to say thank you to A & C for looking after me so wonderfully. Red said she hopes your weekends start well and are filled with laughter and silliness...

Catch Up Time and the Sock Stealer..

I hope your Sunday is being good to you? Mine is a very tiring one as I started my new treatment last night and have had an eventful night..and I'll leave it at that..lol.

I was treated to breakfast in bed by My Love who had made me Tofu Scramblers on two small pieces of Rye toast. It was lovely and was very grateful for the effort by My Love is isn't feeling well either.

It's been a shaky few days since Wednesday hospital visit with a lot to process and lots of 'stuff' to work out. (Sorry for the vagueness but I'm still processing for sure..)

And then the lovely madness of our nieces birthday and yesterday being family day...which was a very loving day. My nephews wanted to show me their new writing skills and both wrote 'Lovely Auntie R' and some love hearts. My niece also tried and I'm fairly sure I could make out the squiggles..lol. It was just lovely to get lost amongst the little ones, catch up with my sister and just feel normal for a while. Our littlest niece L turned up rocking a fabulous t-shirt with Pebbles on the front and so there was some attempts made at taking some photos of her...lol. Attempts?? Yep because I now have a rather splendid collection of her exiting the photo right and left. Action shots I believe they are called..lol. I did manage to get a good shot of the nephews sat together and one of Noo with her face squished between the bannisters. lol.

The Sock Stealer has been busy...fretting over me..snuggling up with My Love in the evenings when crashed out with exhaustion. His work is never done...so today's photo is a recent one of him with his birthday bone biscuit. I think the flash on My Loves phone must be something else because he really is looking stunned...or guilty. With him, it could always go either way! lol

"Who me? No..wasn't me! I didn't do it? Urgh..I just wanna eat this bone..leave me be!" lol
It's quite funny after family day because it's usually a race to see who collaspes first after the little ones are gone. He usually opts for his bed and is snoring in minutes..My Love tries to sit quietly with a cuppa but very soon joins the little fella. lol

Thanks for stopping by...I hope your Sunday is a good one...Back tomorrow..

Supportive Sock Stealer Moment

I couldn't help but take this snap of the Sock Stealer. He frets like anything when My Love or I are ill so he waits to see where we are sitting and then sets up camp in a position where he can watch us. And this is where he has been whilst I've been laid up with this lurgy..on the back of the sofa...just snoozing and watching...lol

The Little Sock Stealer

I just wanted to add a quick note today about the four legged critter that shares our home. We've had him since he was a little white ball of fur with two floppy ears. He was a star from the moment he came into our lives. He definitely has a personality although I don't hold with humanising our four legged friends. After picking him up from the breeders to bring him home, he travelled all the way back, snuggled up inside the front of my sisters fleece jacket. From that very moment he developed a love for fleece material and take every opportunity to curl up in a ball and sleep on it..whether its a fleece blanket or on a person's body. You are very popular in this house if you walk in wearing a fleece lol.  Soon after he arrived he developed a playful relationship with my sister who was staying with us then. She would jump forward in her socks and he would run rings around her feet and nip at her sock ends. Little scamp. This has lead to a sock fetish for our dear pooch. We were fortunate that we never had the experience of a puppy eating the furniture or expensive shoes. But we did suddenly find ourselves missing many socks, to find them in little piles, stashed behind things. And to be honest we didn't ever try and change this as it was what made he earn his title of Lord  A Stealer of Socks...an affectionate nickname My Love came up with one morning, when faced with trying to find two matching socks! I thought t could've been  a lot worse! lol So for the purposes of this blog he will be known as Sock Stealer. It was a nick suggested to me by a dear chum for this purpose and I think it is perfect.
